This morning I signed up for my fall classes of technically my senior year… but I'll probably be here for, hopefully only a 5th year… 6 years and it starts getting embarrassing. Next Semester I'm taking two SMAD classes, French, Philosophy, and Photography! BUT I am SOOOO excited because I am signed up for a JMU teach class taught by a JMU student about….. BEARDS.
yeah you read that right. The Literary Culture of Facial Hair According to the article, she fell in love with the Avett Brothers, and then facial hair. same. Let's Get Inspired: This Saturday is Madipalooza! The JMU outdoor music festival on the festival lawn! I love Madipalooza especially when its beautiful out like it will be this weekend! MAGIC MAN My favorite this year, I found them a couple weeks ago and when I found out they are going to be here this Saturday I was VERY excited! The video is really cool, so go check it out on youtube… VEVO won't let me play videos on here. They will be at Firefly this summer!! Mammoth Indigo Definitely a slower vibe, but they sound really cool. I LOVE that first photo below, great cover! And obviously if you have long hair and/or a beard, your automatically cooler in my book… plus they're from Harrisonburg! Ryan Slocum For som reason, the Madipalooza didn't put his name on the lineup! He's so amazing! Bas To be 100% honest… I think this is the right person. It says Bas on the Lineup, but he's the only guy I haven't heard of… not really my style of music. I think he's apart of something called Dreamville… but I don't know if its like a record company, or a group of rappers. I don't really get it, but cool photos! Fighting JamesonsRyan CabreraAdam Sanders … not SANDLER…. not even close Philosophunk JMU student winners! Last Year: This is an insta I took of The Lonely Biscuits last year (each band member liked it… no big deal!) I am in LOVE with Gravy Wenrich and his luscious locks. They are such nice guys, and super talented! I stumbled upon these guys last year while looking up inspiration for one of my art projects! I love looking through their website and seeing all types of art like film, graphic design, and photography. There are a bunch of guys who collaborate to create these awesome designs, their work is unbelievable! There's Benjamin Roudet who films, does graphic design, and photography, he is 'The Big Addict'. Theres Tilt, who is a graffiti artist. They have a couple other guys to come along too, I still can't really figure out who they are but there names are Der and Dran… I found this Belgian artist, Pete One who found an abandoned nursing home, and used it as a canvas. This would seriously be so much fun to have all that space to work with and to do whatever you want! So cool!
Okay everyone knows I have an art/poster problem. I'm addicted and can't stop. I found another awesome poster artist on etsy… don't let me buy one. The Art of Adam Juresko Also, if you have not seen every single one of these movies... stop what you're doing and come over because you're seriously missing out. It makes me sad when people miss out on good movies. It's becoming a problem… I tend to only write blog posts when I should be doing a project. Adderal is great and everything, but I never focus on the right thing. So here I am! Today in my photo class we submitted our final project proposal! I am very anxious to get started because it's something I have never tried before! I am going to attempt the double exposure technique! I found awesome inspiration online and I am so excited to get started, because if I can pull this off it would be so cool! We shall see! Some of you may have seen on Facebook my last photo project, where we had to choose our photography 'hero' and I chose Richard Avedon. I am so in love with everything he did! Unfortunately I didn't have my little model sista Hagen here at school to model for me, so I convinced my roommates to take 5 minutes out of their day to help me! A HUGE thanks to Jordyn, Erika, Kelly, Kiersten, and Morgan for helping me out! I know some of y'all aren't super comfortable in front of the camera… especially when I make you pose outside when everyone can see you. I got awesome shots that I love, especially considering my major time crunch! I have never really done portraiture, especially with a film camera and a white background. It was challenging getting my 'models' comfortable and capturing a moment that wasn't forced! I was really inspired by these photos: especially this one: This is what I came up with:
I would really like to take the actual time to do this project again, I think I could get some really cool shots! |
