Clerks
I have mentioned my Kevin Smith obsession multiple times before and I am thrilled that he has a new movie out. I haven't seen it yet because it is slightly difficult finding someone who is willing to go see a movie like this with me. Kevin Smith is one of my all time favorite directors: Clerks Chasing Amy Jay and Silent Bob and the best... Red State and now... TUSK I'll say this again, one of the greatest books I have every read.

Fashion Week just keeps getting better and I was amazed at how gorgeous the Milan Shows were! Unreal. Like the super cool romantic 60's and 70's theme going on at Alberta Ferretti: Or the gorgeous simplistic military style of Port 1961 Bluemarine: INSANE Giambattista Valli's Giamba: gorgeously girly 60's inspired babydolls Etro: Words do not describe how sick her show was. The super wearable collection form Les Copains Roberto Cavalli's mixture of elegant lace and edgy sequins Emilio Pucci's 1970 trip Luisa Beccaria made dresses that make me want to run through a field of flowers Dolce and Gabbana: Sexy and Spanish It's been real Milan, next up: PARIS
As many of you may know I am currently in a class called The Literary Culture of Facial Hair. I am obsessed with beards and so when I heard there was a class about them I was thrilled. However, we don't sit around looking at pictures of men with beards all day (I wish), we examine famous men with beards and how they have embraced their part in various counterculture movements throughout history. We examine the work of famous bearded writers and poets and how a certain 'beardedness' relates to a life of creativity and counterculture. It is a little hippy dippy for me being surrounded by a class full of major hipsters but I am loving it so much. I thought I would share a few things I have seen and enjoyed in this class thus far. Anis Moshgani - spoken word poet I loved learning about his because as many of you probably agree, there is such negative stigma in our brains about slam poetry, but watching just one video of his changed my mind. Allen Ginsberg - American Poet and one of the leaders of the 1950's Beat Movement I have read his famous poem, HOWL before and it is complete madness. We read a Supermarket in California and that was amazing. The quote below (courtesy of tumblr) was one of my favorites a long with, "for I walked down the sidestreets under the trees with a headache self-conscious looking at the full moon." Henry David Thoreau- American Author and Poet We all know this transcendentalist (I hope) nature freak. He is absolutely amazing and if his work wasn't shoved down your throats in high school I seriously recommend looking him up. Ralph Waldo Emerson- leader of the transcendentalist movement doesn't have a beard so he's dumb All these men went against the grain, and were apart of these counter culture movements of creativity. I can't wait to learn more! To top it all off i'll post my favorite video of my favorite bearded men. The Avett Brothers, I feel really represent the counter culture movement happening right now. They also have great facial hair.
I can't resist. I said I wouldn't share all the looks from London Fashion Week, but looking at them I have to share them.
London Fashion week has just wrapped up and everyone is headed to Milan! Ill refrain from doing what I did during NYFW posting about every one of my favorite shows. Instead, i want to talk about one of my favorite designers Alice Temperley of Temperley London. I fell in love with her romantic style and her use of colors and prints. Her Spring 2015 RTW collection features more everyday wear as she is broadens her label. Let us all remember when I accidentally stumbled upon her bridal boutique in Nottinghill in London while headed to the design museum. Best moment ever. Don't even get me started on her bridal collection, it's insane.
It's New York Fashion Week and we all know what that means! I won't be doing anything important and instead will be spending my time on style.com looking at all the new collections for Spring 2015! As always when fashion week comes around I love to post my favorite looks from my favorite designers! Let's see what these crazy people want us to be wearing next year shall we? It's not over yet, you can catch up on all the shows and even Live Stream a lot of them on Style.com. So I guess I won't be getting any work done this week.
