Leavin' for London in 5 days! I am so excited to see the city and am afraid I won't have enough time! I got a book for Christmas from my grandma Gigi, the art lover and I can't wait to put it to use! 1001 Paintings You Must See Before You Die All of these paintings I have studied in my Art History class so I am very anxious to see them in person!! I literally don't care how weird they are, I'm obsessed. I don't know why, but I think they are so fun… I may take it to the next level when I buy dragon tattoos in the movie theatre, but there are a lot of websites that actually sell really cool ones! If you're thinking about getting a real one you might as well try it out first.
Done Done Done with GRPH 202 (Design Methodology!) This class really pushed me because it was all about graphic design…. NOT on the computer. AKA drawing, painting, etc. It was very difficult to complete each project with my lack of skill using actually materials. Luckily the final project used photography so I was excited to do something I am relatively familiar with. The final project was confusing and I had no Idea how to pull it off. We had to design a poster for a "restaurant" that looks like a movie poster. It could also be about a famous person. We were to use only foods and to photograph them, using no computer editing. Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction. Obviously I had to do Quentin Tarantino films! The cheeseburger, for those who have not seen Pulp Fiction refers to a quote about how the French call a Quarter Pounder a Royale with Cheese.
Thanks to Kelly and Erika for letting me splatter ketchup all over y'all! Our neighbors definitely want to be friends with us now... I come from an amazingly talented family. Both my mom and dads sides have an unbelievably artistic eye and talent. I hope to write more about my family showing how unique each member is! I will start off here: I was sent this video, made by my cousin Conor, of his dad Peter Hagen (my great uncle) I thought I would share the superb talent of both Conor and Peter! Peter Hagen American Landscape Painter Santa Fe, NM Conor Hagen Freelance Filmmaker Conor I had to go deep into your Facebook to get this picture….sorry. 2014 DIRECTOR'S REEL from Conor Hagen on Vimeo. I really have to get to work to prove myself in the awesome family!!
Check back soon for a post about my grandma, Lynn Hagen Grow! I stumbled upon these guys last year while looking up inspiration for one of my art projects! I love looking through their website and seeing all types of art like film, graphic design, and photography. There are a bunch of guys who collaborate to create these awesome designs, their work is unbelievable! There's Benjamin Roudet who films, does graphic design, and photography, he is 'The Big Addict'. Theres Tilt, who is a graffiti artist. They have a couple other guys to come along too, I still can't really figure out who they are but there names are Der and Dran… I found this Belgian artist, Pete One who found an abandoned nursing home, and used it as a canvas. This would seriously be so much fun to have all that space to work with and to do whatever you want! So cool!
Okay everyone knows I have an art/poster problem. I'm addicted and can't stop. I found another awesome poster artist on etsy… don't let me buy one. The Art of Adam Juresko Also, if you have not seen every single one of these movies... stop what you're doing and come over because you're seriously missing out. It makes me sad when people miss out on good movies. |
